Local workshop at BOOST Amsterdam

The 24th of June, the Dutch team and BOOST Amsterdam organized a local workshop at BOOST Amsterdam to present the findings of the first part of the Dutch case study. After a delicious buffet, Mieke Kox shared the results of 210 hours of participatory fieldwork at BOOST, 18 interviews with youngsters and informal conversations with another 77 newcomers. She discussed these youngsters’ experiences upon arrival, their use of and experiences in public spaces and their feelings of belonging in the city. The interactive presentation for a varied audience of employees of BOOST, volunteers and refugees was followed by three brainstorm sessions. BOOST Amsterdam was inspired by the outcomes of the research as well as the brainstorm sesstions an will use the insights to further improve its work for refugees in Amsterdam.
